Delta plane crash occurred in the vicinity of Toronto, Minnesota

A flight carrying 80 passengers met with an accident at Toronto Airport, and the resulting footage is profoundly distressing.
According to official reports, one of the 80 passengers aboard the aircraft has sustained injuries of a “critical” nature.

It is my understanding that a Delta Air Lines passenger jet that departed from Minneapolis crashed at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport, landing on the runway upside down. I’m pleased to say that few passengers were injured.
The airport has acknowledged that there was an “incident” after social media users shared video and images of a Delta flight that appeared to be inverted, with smoke billowing from it.

“Toronto Pearson is aware of an incident upon landing involving a Delta Airlines plane arriving from Minneapolis. Emergency teams are responding. All passengers and crew are accounted for,” the airport said in a statement.
Delta has expressed awareness of reports regarding an incident involving one of its jets and is currently working to verify the details.
Peel Regional Police, whose jurisdiction encompasses the airport, has informed ABC News that eight individuals have been injured, with one person experiencing “critical, non-life-threatening injuries.” The department has also noted that seven individuals sustained moderate to mild injuries.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the flight, DL 4819, was carrying 80 passengers when it crashed.

Elise Golgowski, a traveler waiting to depart from Pearson, shared with HuffPost that the airport announced there had been an incident and had suspended all flights and flight check-ins.

Video from Golgowski showed an American Airlines employee at Pearson telling travelers at the check-in counter to “go on Twitter, TikTok ― you’ll see what happened. … We don’t have any information, but there was an incident that happened. That’s all we know.”The employee told travelers that some passengers may not be able to get on new flights until Wednesday.

This incident follows a period of significant changes within the FAA, including the dismissal of numerous personnel hired for radar, landing, and navigational aid maintenance. The union representing these employees, the Professional Aviation Safety Specialists, has expressed concerns in a recent statement, suggesting that the decision was made with insufficient foresight. The union has highlighted the potential implications of this action, stating that it could lead to an increase in workload and the imposition of new responsibilities on a workforce that is already operating under considerable strain.

The recent incident, along with the recent changes to the agency, follows closely on the heels of a tragic midair collision between a commercial flight and a military helicopter at Ronald Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C., which claimed the lives of all 67 passengers on board.

In the days leading up to this unfortunate event, the president also decided to terminate the appointments of the members of the Aviation Security Advisory Committee, a group entrusted with the important task of addressing airline and airport safety concerns.
