But with the launch of her new series With Love, Meghan, fans got to know the now-lifestyle presenter even more.

From her surprise job while being an auditioning actor to a job-fail and her favourite microwave meals to eat as a kid, here’s what we learned about the 43-year-old:

Meghan ate lots of fast food growing up

Meghan may be a foodie now but that wasn’t always the case.

While chatting about their childhoods, Meghan told actress Mindy Kaling she ate a lot of fast food growing up.

“I was a latchkey kid, so I grew up with a lot of fast food and also a lot of TV tray dinners,” she explained.

“It feels like such a different time but that was so normal with the microwaveable kids meals … do you remember them?”

Kaling seemed to know the exact ones and had her own experiences with them.

“The Hungry Man meals?” she clarified.

“And there’s a little tiny compartment that has apple crumble in it … I thought that was more delicious as a child.”

Meghan’s dinner time was also vastly different from her own kids, revealing she used to sit in front of the TV to eat.

“I grew up with that watching Jeopardy and having a lot of fast food … I used to eat a lot of El Pollo Loco, always been a fan Taco Bell – extra hot sauce on the Mexican pizza – Jack in the Box because my mum loved their tacos.”

Meghan travelled a lot as a kid

Meghan’s parents Doria Ragland and Thomas Markle Snr separated when she was young and she’s spoken before about living between her parents while growing up.

What some may not realise is how much Meghan and Doria travelled when the media personality was younger and how that informed her world view now.

“Even at a young age, we didn’t have a lot but we travelled. My mum was a travel agent,” Meghan revealed in episode 7.

“We would just try so many different flavours in different places.”

Another bonding exercise Meghan shared with her mum was her time in the Girl Scouts.

“I was a girl scout for so many years,” Meghan told friend Delfina Figueras, the wife of Argentinian polo player Nacho Figueras, as they hiked in episode 4.

“I started as a Daisy, which is when you’re five or six, and I sold a lot of cookies.

“And my mum was my troop leader, troop 949!”

Meghan’s jokes about her job-fail

Meghan told neighbour and friend Vicky Tsai, during episode 7, about her promotion and swift demotion at a job she once had while at Northwestern University.

“I had a job when I was in college, working a bar in Chicago – doing two majors, and then, like, ‘I’ll go to Chicago and I’ll just go and make extra money and I’ll be the coat check girl’,” Meghan recalled.

Then she says they gave her a run as a cocktail waitress but that didn’t last too long.

“The guy is really loud, and he’s like, ‘Hey, can I get a calendar one Martini?’ And I was like, I don’t know what he’s saying. I was like, ‘I think he’s from Texas and he asked me for a cowboy run Martini’ and they were like, ‘we don’t have that’, so I go, ‘we don’t have that’.

“And he’s like, ‘What you don’t want to Kettle One Martini?’. I was like,’no, no’ and they’re like, ‘let’s have you go back to being a coat check girl’.”

But it’s in the last one, Meghan reveals a surprise skill she picked up at a previous job.
